Elders the world over tell tales of how things were before the Cataclysm, but these are not myths for DX – they're facts. He was there as the world burned. Constructed as an elite war machine meant to endure the ravages of the Cataclysm, DX was one of the most efficient death dealers of his age. Thus, the scientists who built him charged him with their protection as they stepped into their stasis pods, set to be reawakened once the great environmental tragedy had ceased. But something went wrong: their pods never opened. As the years passed, DX's advanced learning algorithms allowed him to assimilate to the changing world around him. He has whiled away the decades collecting the materials and resources necessary to keep his sleeping charges safe – a band of old men from a dead civilization who, for all appearances, will never wake. But that is not DX's concern. All that matters to the ancient war machine is fulfilling his programming... and eliminating anything that gets in his way.
